Play Lab
Play lab is based on the NEP-Foundational Stage learning framework which emphasizes on a VARK learner for learning to be effective it has to be play-based and outcome oriented for the learners. It encourages child-centered learning and children naturally learn self-discipline as the classroom environment teaches order and children can unleash their creativity and focus fully on the learning process. The first step is the introduction to the practical life activities. These activities bring children close to the environment and help develop their fine-motor-skills, eye-hand coordination.
The Number Ninjas Lab
The Junior Math Lab at DHS Ajmer Road, 'The Number Ninjas' provides the students a place to engage in hands-on learning and explore the Mathematical concepts while having fun at the same time. The Math lab has been designed keeping in mind the learner- centric approach. The students get the opportunities to engage in activity-based learning and they are able to comprehend the abstract concepts of Maths using specially designed tools. Here, the visual and kinaesthetic learning styles facilitate learning and help in developing a favourable attitude towards the learning of Mathematics.
The Curious Cubs Lab
An effective teaching and learning of Science involves a perpetual state of show and tell. The Junior Science Lab at DHS Ajmer Road, 'The Curious Cubs', serves this very purpose, as here the students get to work collaboratively to find answers to their questions. The students learn various scientific phenomena and are able to retain the concepts for a longer period of time as the learning is the outcome of their own experiences.
'Learning by Doing' involves making careful observations and an analysis of gathered evidences and data. The students are actively engaged in scientific explorations in the Junior Science Lab and they are able to connect their learning to real life situations, which is one of the important objectives in educational pedagogy.
Science Lab
Thoughtfully designed science labs satisfy the inquisitiveness and the quest for innovation and research. Separate labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology equipped with latest devices and experimental kits are provided to the students. Regular visits to the labs establish the desired link between the practical and theoretical aspect of these subjects and the reinforcement helps to learn and grasp the concepts.
Computer Lab
To seamlessly integrate Informatics Technology into our teaching practices and empower students to tackle real-world challenges, we provide comprehensive training on computer hardware and software. Our three state-of-the-art computer labs, each equipped with 25 computers, ensure that every student has access to hands-on learning experiences. Interactive panels in each lab enhance engagement and facilitate easier understanding. Under the expert guidance of our skilled teaching staff, students collaborate on educational projects, promoting a dynamic and immersive learning environment.
Language Lab
An important part of learning any language is to sharpen the 4Rs- i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. The Language Lab facilitates an environment for students to enrich their vocabulary, pronunciation and encourages creative thinking. It serves as a platform to hone public speaking skills like- speech, debate, recitation, compeering etc.
Math Lab
To enhance the teaching of Mathematics at the school level, the Mathematics lab promotes the ‘learning by discovery’, approach. Students work collaboratively on projects and activities, to highlight the relevance of Mathematics in everyday life, the otherwise difficult to comprehend concepts become easier and interesting.
DHS Ajmer Road was selected to receive a grant of over twenty lakhs to establish the prestigious Atal Tinkering Laboratory in the school premises. The programme is being spearheaded by NITI Aayog with a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators and make india a developed nation by 2047.’
The main aim of ATL is to promote Creativity, Innovation and problem-solving by hands-on learning in students by providing them with a platform to experiment and develop their ideas in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The lab activities are designed to spur the skill of designing the prototype of the product using 3D printer and testing its working which involves working with various sensors like temperature, heartbeat, proximity sensor, which give analog signal to the processing device like Microcontroller etc. which process the data and send to the output device. Learning in ATL Lab go beyond regular curriculum and text book learning.
From tinkering of the idea to making the real working product along with converting it into scalable business model via getting hand holding support from the Govt of India in terms of IPR ( intellectual property rights) registration support to finance support in terms of grant .
Students of neighbouring schools & Shiksha Kendra also have access to the lab. Different activities ranging from regional and national level competitions, exhibitions, workshops on problem solving, designing and fabrication of products, lecture series etc. are organised at periodic intervals in ATL.
Atal lab activities have made DHS Ajmer Road to be a harbinger of change that will definitely transform India to a technologically driven developed nation by 2047.
